It was a spur of the moment. I wanted an adventure and my husband was game. We packed our bags, grabbed our passports and gassed up the car. Montreal, here we come. We didn’t have a hotel reservation or a plan of action of what we were going to do…
Getting there was almost too easy, a straight drive up from I287. We did stop a couple of times, but made it there in a decent amount of time. Of course, we made the reservations while we were driving, thank goodness for cellphones.
You can see the change in signage, and know you are in another country. It was beautiful. The fact that you can just drive a couple of hours and be on foreign soil is remarkable.
Their European architecture was exquisite, the main plaza in front of the Notre Dame was reminiscent of the books I used to read as a child. Their food was also fantastic and the people had what I assumed to be the European flare…

The underground is fascinating here. It is clean, well lit and has business establishments underground. It seems you can connect to everywhere form the underground.

On our way to Montreal, about 6 hours drive. The view is just amazing...
